Mrs. Raben was born in Battle Creek, Michigan - home of Kellogg's: the Cereal Capital of the World. She moved multiple times during her childhood - as her mother's teaching career evolved. She is the youngest of five children. She and her siblings spent summers on Mercer Island, Washington with their dad. She received an undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University (in the cool town of Kalamazoo). After working five years as a social worker, she pursued her teaching credential. Prior to moving to Washington in 1990, she taught High School English in northern Michigan. Among other things, she worked at TOGETHER! and has taught Education and Early Childhood Education courses at South Puget Sound Community College. She loves to travel, spend time with family, play all types of games, cook, and relax on the beach with a good book. Her 'Greatest Accomplishments in Life' include three terrific kids: Lilly (Senior, BYU), Anna (Senior, OHS) and Jack (3rd grade, Pioneer). This is her tenth year at Pioneer. Fourth Grade ROCKS!
