Jan Cereghino

4th Grade Teacher

B.A. University of Oregon
B.A. Evergreen State College
M. Ed. City University

Mrs. Cereghino (Mrs. C.) was born in Spokane, Washington where she spent her younger years drawing, reading, riding, and dreaming about horses. She was the 4th of 5 children and experienced a great deal of freedom growing up exploring the woods, hiking, and spending time in her own imagination. When she was 12, her life was uprooted, and for the next 6 years it seemed every few months she moved someplace new. One valuable lesson she learned from this experience was that being the “new kid” was not always easy.

After graduating from the University of Oregon, Mrs. Cereghino moved to Olympia where she met her husband, Jeff. They have two beautiful daughters, one handsome son, and 5 deliciously adorable grandchildren. Her entire teaching career has been spent at Pioneer where she taught 1st and 2nd grade before discovering her heart belonged to 4th grade and the latest batch of 9 and 10 year olds.

In her leisure time, Mrs. Cereghino still loves getting lost in a book and dreaming but also finds time to enjoy beachcombing, geo-caching, tending her garden, boating on the Puget Sound, and spending precious time with her loving family and friends.
