Principal's Physical Fitness Program
The Pioneer Site Council's "Principal's Physical Fitness Program" strives to partner with families to encourage active playtime for children, based on the belief that a healthy and active lifestyle has a positive effect on student achievement.
Through this program, students have many different ways to earn points for active play in order to earn a Principal's Physical Fitness Award at the end of the school year.
The students have from February 2 through May 29, 2009, to earn 100 points by doing any of the following activities:
- Walk or ride bike to school
- Walk miles on the walking track at school during recess (a punch card is provided for students)
- Participate in Get Up and Get Moving on Wednesday mornings from 8-8:50 a.m. in the gymnasium
- Swimming
- Recreational league sports or activities
- Time spent in active play outside of school
Our staff is committed to participating in the program, and we look forward to hearing about th emany different ways you are staying active.
