Clubs and Activities
Pioneer Elementary offers several before- and after-school extracurricular activities for students, many of which are supported in part with PTA funds.
Passport Club is available to every student at Pioneer, thanks to funding from Pioneer staff and parents.
Each month, students receive a study map showing which countries to learn. There are five levels of learning available. Extra maps are available in the school library.
Near the end of the month, parent helpers check each student on their knowledge of the countries. For each level passed, students may choose a stamp to put in their individual passport books. Students who pass that level the corresponds to their grade level also may choose one coin from the world coin collection. (Coin donations always appreciated!)
Laminated blank study maps are helpful for home study and last for years. If you wish to order one, send $3.00 (cash or check made out to "Pioneer PTA") in an envelope with your child's name, teacher's name, and "Passport Map" written on the front.
Parent helpers always welcome!
2009-10 Passport Check Dates:
Nov. 20, Dec 11, Jan 29, Feb 26, April 2, April 30, May 28.
